What do MMP Awards represent?
- One winner per season, rather than one per league.
- Pitchers and position players are given equal consideration.
- Merit is predominantly ascribed to individual players - team strength minimally
affects a player's individual merit.
- Defense is part of baseball, too.
- We can do better than the triple crown stats in determining who the most
meritorious players were in a given season.
